Pastor Tom and Eva Perconti
Pastor Tom, and his wife Eva, were born and raised in Brooklyn, NY. They first met in third grade and although their paths separated after junior high school, they reunited many years later. They have made their home in the Prescott area since their marriage in 2002. Tom retired in 2010 from IBM after 28 years with the company as a Software Developer. He holds a B.S. degree from SUNY-New Paltz in Computer Science. Shortly after they were wed, Tom enrolled in Calvary Bible College and graduated from the School of Ministry in 2004.
He joined the staff of Calvary Chapel of Prescott as an intern pastor and was responsible for teaching classes at the Bible College, producing the weekly radio show, and leading the Singles Ministry for several years. He and Eva also led the 2007 Family Camp, a week-long event at Calvary’s Lake Arrowhead facility.
2008 marked a new season for Tom and Eva as they joined Harvest Bible Chapel of Prescott, later known as Canyon Bible Church. He was ordained as an Elder in 2010. Besides regular opportunities to preach, he developed and taught seminars on Evangelism, Catholicism, Essentials of the Christian Faith, Discipleship, and Leadership. He developed the Small Group curriculum that was used church-wide, as well as Bible studies for Men’s Ministry. He has also published two books, "From The Crucifix to the Cross" and "Equipped For Service".
The senior pastor and Pastor Tom teamed up to travel around the country encouraging and mentoring church planters. By coming along side these teams to provide spiritual support and care, practical recommendations, and ministry resources, they were able to assist these plants to grow in faithfulness and fruitfulness.
Eva was a teacher in the Women’s Ministry at Canyon and wrote and taught an eight-week Bible study based on Proverbs 31, "Blessing Your Home". She has also served for several years in church offices as an administrative assistant to various ministries. Tom and Eva were blessed to be used of the Lord to bring healing and hope to many individuals and couples through Biblical counseling. They both taught breakout and main sessions at several annual retreats, including a retreat at Harvest Bible Chapel in Braşov, Romania.
In 2011, a mission trip to Romania in his role as Elder stirred Tom’s heart to begin to pray about pastoring a church. After other mission trips and much prayer, the vision to plant a church in Prescott became clear. In 2013, he and Eva attended church planting course at Dallas Theological Seminary, which equipped them with the practical knowledge that was needed to move forward with the plan the Lord had placed on their hearts.
Continuing to seek the Lord, He gave them a simple but powerful vision for a church that would be built on deep and real relationships, both inside and outside the church, to grow together in the Lord, and to share the good news of the Gospel with a world that desperately needs it. Our Guiding Principles reflect the commitment to this vision to bring the message of salvation to the lost and to equip the saints for the work of the ministry, that Christ may be glorified in all.
After nearly a 5 year season of church planting, it seemed like the season had come to an end, so Tom and Eva returned to Canyon Bible Church of Prescott Valley in November 2018. In August of 2019, Pastor Tom rejoined the Pastoral Care Team to serve the body of believers at Canyon. For over 3 years Tom periodically preached on Sunday mornings, taught weekly adult Sunday school classes, wrote and published the "Explore Discipleship" workbook and taught through the 12 sessions of the class. He wrote and published the Bible Study, "Sanctified"... an intensive nine week study on what it means to be "set apart" for Christ. He led Men's Discipleship at Canyon and developed "Sharpen: An Intentional Study through the book of Nehemiah".
Eva led Women's Discipleship at Canyon, developing and publishing "Devoted" a woman's study through Titus chapter 2, published a women's mentoring resource entitled, "Transformed" that works through Titus chapter 3, and a study through the Fruit of the Spirit.
In January of 2023, Pastor Tom had concluded that his season of serving on Canyon's Pastoral Care Team had come to an end and he stepped down to devote more time to developing and publishing discipleship resources for the larger Christian community.
